Here's another great script from flooble.com: a collapsible floating sidebar menu.
We can tell you all about it, (and we will) but first, why not see it for yourself
by clicking the "Menu" tab in the upper-left corner of the page. See how it just
pops out? Cool, isn't it?
But that's not all! If you try scrolling this page, you will see that the menu will move up and
down to stay positioned just a little below the top of the screen!
The reason this menu is so useful is that it's always visible to the user, even when they are at the
bottom of a very long page - yet it never takes up more than a few pixels of screenspace when
collapsed, so you don't have to worry about it covering up your content.
(We do recommend that your content not occupy the leftmost 20 or so pixels of the screen
so that the sidebar menu doesn't obscure it while collapsed.)
You can put any HTML code you wish into the menu, including code dynamically generated
through PHP or other technologies.
On these pages we will let you make your own customize floating sidebar menu -
you will get to pick the colors, the contents and the behavior! At the end we will give you
the Javascript code, and the HTML code - custom built to your preferences, all free!
This script has been tested to work with Mozilla (Netscape 7, Firebird/Firefox) and Internet Explorer 6
browsers.
